Where do those points come from? Or do they have any meaning?

Points seen on your user page are given as you make different actions across the wiki such as editing pages, commenting, making blogs, etc. They have no real meaning beyond that.

I thought I submitted a GitHub request to update the titles associated with points in LocalSettings, but I don't think anything has been done with it.

Don't think I've seen them. You can change them yourself on GitHub by opening pull request (you can just go to LocalSettings_gbc.php and click edit).

Hi. The first time I tried to register I made an error in the username. There's a user by the name of "Captainoiwe" that will see no activity ever again, and can stand to be deleted.

Owen.

Oh also, what's the view on posting to old threads in the forum? I can see there was a lot of activity around March, then just a few posts. I want to play, but I want to play nice. I don't want to be That Guy.

I'm not an authority, but I think general guidelines apply. Reviving an old thread just to say "I like it" or similar is generally just distracting. Reviving a thread to provide new information or asking questions is generally OK. Reviving to provide criticism or suggestions is a grey area. Given the low traffic on this forum, I think it's safe to assume that we are lenient on this. It might even be good with an infusion of more discussion.

I don't seem to be able to edit any of the wiki pages. I've tried a couple of times over the last week or so, and every time I hit the Save Page button, a blank page loads, and the favicon reverts to the Brickimedia red 2x2 (as opposed to the image of the soccer ball).

The most recent time I tried I ran a packet capture tool to see if I could find any anomalies, and all I found was that I got a 500 Server error. The timestamp (should someone with appropriate access want to look up the logs) was Date: Sat, 06 Jun 2015 06:03:50 GMT.

If it helps to diagnose the problem, I run NoScript (so javascript is blocked by default) and AdBlock plus. Of course I've allowed greatballcontraption.com and brickimedia.org run stuff - the only thing that is not being allowed to run is quantserve, but I don't see how web tracking code or ads should affect posting???

I have had success editing a Discussion page, and I can post to the forums just fine. I just don't seem to be able to edit main content.

Owen.

(Hopefully) resolved now. If it isn't, we can do more.
